Serving Delicious Bar-B-Q Since 1950 ~ Sauce Still Made From Original Leach Family Recipe
The Leach Bros. Pit Bar-B-Q story began in Brownwood, Texas. The Leach brothers and the Underwood brothers started a partnership and opened their first Bar-B-Q stand, which was a remodeled chicken house, when they were in their early teens.
After finishing school and serving their country during World War II, the brothers went separate ways.
The Underwood brothers stayed in Brownwood and opened another Bar-B-Q restaurant.
Gene Leach left Brownwood and moved to Cleburne in 1949. He bought property of East Henderson Street, built his Bar-B-Q, and opened for business in September 1950. The business has grown and prospered over the years. Gene passed away in 1993, but Linda, his widow, has continued on with the business. Linda married Harold Johnston in 1995 and with his love and help they have made the Bar-B-Q business thrive. When you stop in and enjoy some of their great Bar-B-Q, you will always be greeted with a smile and prompt attention by Linda and the girls.
